On Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 3:00pm, Annapolis Voices will hold their annual spring concert at St. George and St. Andrew United Church in Annapolis Royal, under the direction of Beth Cranston. The theme is Ferocious, Friendly, Furry and Funny – Stories and Caricatures from the Animal Kingdom, and incorporates folk tales from mystical to modern.
The choir is excited to showcase compositions by one of our own, singer-songwriter and artist Jenna Kessler. In addition, we will feature work by local music and choral professional, Gary Ewer, who will also participate in the concert as a guest conductor. Our accompanied pieces will be expertly supported by Acadia’s Dr. Krissy Keech on piano, and our audience can also look forward to the sounds of oboe, flute, tin whistle and percussion. It will be an afternoon of energetic and humorous music interspersed with some moving and hopeful selections reflecting today’s world. We hope to see you there!
Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for youth, and are available from choir members or by calling 902-526-3609.
Concert includes works by Gary Ewer, Jenna Kessler, Bruce Sled, Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjeilo, John Rutter, Frank Ticheli, Aaron Copland and Stephen Leek.
With thanks to Jenna Kessler and Garth Laidlaw for original poster art!
