St. Margaret of Scotland Parish invites you to a Celtic Christmas to be held in the St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Arisaig on December 16, 2018 starting at 2:00 pm.
Tickets are $20.00 each and available at the Antigonish 5 to $1 and Hawthorne Convenience.
Performing for us will be the Antigonish Choral Ensemble (NSCF member choir), a community choir that is in its sixth season, and now a part of the newly formed Antigonish Choral Society. Artistic Director Ryan Billington leads ACE’s dedicated group of singers in the preparation and performance of beautiful and eclectic music in venues around Antigonish Town and County. Managed by its new Board of Directors, ACE prepares three concerts per season, sharing its performance with a wide ranging local audience, and collaborating with other local musicians and organizations.
Other performers will be the Pictou County Brass and Reed Band. Celtic music by Dwayne Cote, Wayne MacDonald, Nadine MacInnis, Emery van de Wiel, Fr. Colin MacKinnon and
Eileen MacKinnon.
The oldest parish in the diocese of Antigonish, with the second oldest church in the diocese, St. Margaret of Scotland Church, with its fantastic acoustics, will be traditionally decorated for Christmas to create that ambiance of old. In keeping with the tradition of celtic hospitality, sweets, tea and coffee will be prior to the concert at the back of the church.
So come to the North Shore for an afternoon of tea, cheer and music and experience some of the traditions kept alive since our Scottish ancestors arrived on these shores over 200 years ago.
