Aeolian Singers – Atlantic Blue – May 11

Atlantic Blue features songs of the sea – including mystery, adventure, tragedies, and comfort. Music ranges from Hymn to the Waters by Holst, to Feist and the Wailing Jennys and Don MacDonald’s Selene’s Boat. Of course there will be a few Maritime folk songs favourites like the gorgeous Cape Breton Lullaby, and the fiery Maid on the Shore, as well as the premiere of a brand new arrangement of folksinger Rose Vaughan’s iconic Stone and Sand and Sea and Sky by Lois McVannel! 

We are so excited to be joined by special guest, bestselling Newfoundland author, Donna Morrissey!   Pianist Diana Torbert, fiddler Anthony Rissesco and percussionist Mark Morton will be there too!  They will add so much to the atmosphere to create a really special tribute to what is such an integral pat of our culture and experience as Maritimers.

LIMITED SEATING as this concert is at the MMA!  Please get your tickets in advance so as not to be disappointed!  Tickets are $20 (general seating), and can be purchased from choir members, online (aeoliansingers.ca), or by calling (902) 292-6168. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with general seating.
