Choirs for Change is excited to announce the winter concert series by the Eastern Horizon Chamber Choir!
Eastern Horizon is an intensive choral ensemble that strives for excellence. Since 2018 it has been directed by Jack Bennet and Christina Murray, with the support of collaborative pianist Lynette Wahlstrom.
This winter the choir will be presenting contemporary choral music by composers from under-represented communities – composers whose identities have long been and continue to be marginalized within society. Included in this will be the premiere of a number of newly commissioned works by Nova Scotian composer Ryan Henwood, as well as a new commission by sub-Arctic Canadian composer Carmen Braden.
The concert will be presented at 2:00pm at St John’s United Church in Fall River, and again at 7:30pm at First Baptist Church of Halifax. General Admission is $20.00, with a number of tickets also available on a Pay-What-You-Can basis. Tickets available online or at the door. At both concerts, childcare will be available.
*Please note that this Halifax performance will involve a live concert recording, and there will be a need for audience cooperation as we try to capture the beautiful sounds of the choir!
We hope you join us for this innovative and high-level concert!
