Galileo Baroque Choir presents “Baroque Masters”

Galileo Baroque Choir, a new ensemble directed by early music specialist Andrew Pickett, will perform works by titans of the Baroque in “Baroque Masters,” Sunday, November 17. The chamber choir is made up of some of Halifax’s finest choral musicians, including trained professionals, experienced veterans and gifted young singers from a wide range of backgrounds, representing the city’s top choirs. The concert will also feature guest artists Garth MacPhee, continuo organ, and Hilary Brown, cello. The programme includes a wide sampling of anthems, songs and opera choruses by some of the finest composers of the period including Bach, Handel, Monteverdi, Purcell, Schütz and Lully.
Galileo Baroque Choir performs “Baroque Masters” Sunday, November 17 at 7:30 pm, at St David’s Presbyterian Church, 1544 Grafton St, Halifax. Admission is $20 ($10 students/seniors/unwaged) at the door.
