The Halifax Camerata Singers, under the direction of Artistic Director Dr. Joel Tranquilla, with pianist Lynette Wahlstrom and Associate Conductor Amelia McMahon, are very pleased to present INHALE on Saturday, 16 November, 7:00 pm, at the beautiful First Baptist Church, 1300 Oxford Street, Halifax.
This concert will highlight music that will make you hold your breath, works of daring acts and bold aspirations. Compositions by Eric Whitacre and Hugo Wolf plus “That’s One Small Step” about the 1969 moon landing by Canadian composer, Tawnie Olson will be performed. Additional composers include Marie-Claire Saindon and Joel Thompson, and Camerata will present a newly commissioned work by previous composer-in-residence Benjamin Sigerson with text by Halifax Poet Laureate Anna Quon. Featured will be percussionist Trevor Brandenburg and guest string quartet.
