Choral Recording of the Year ECMA Nominees!

The East Coast Music Association announced its 2024 nominees on January 23rd. Three NSCF members and  Nova Scotian choirs were nominated in the “Choral recording of the year” category: the Halifax Gay Men’s Chorus, Nova Voice, and Polaris. All three choirs were nominated for recordings of their performances at “Let’s Have Some Music” back in April. The purpose of this concert was to share some of the wonderful arrangements that were created as part of the Robbie Songs Project (https://nscf.ca/the-robbie-songs-project/). Congratulations to all five choirs from around the Maritimes that were nominated in this category!

NSCF Memories Still Needed!

Wanted – your memories!

Just a quick reminder that we’re compiling some historical information about the Federation and want this living document to capture the energy and warm, vibrant soul of the organization. So, we’re asking for your memories.

They can be about people, places, events, programs, or a piece of music you associate with any of these. They can be hilarious, tender, profound, embarrassing (just don’t embarrass other people without their blessing, please!). We want them all. There’s no maximum word length but short and sweet is always good. A big thank-you to those who have already sent items.

Email to paddymuir@gmail.com  Or if a handwritten note by snail mail works best for you, that’s fine too. The office will collect and make sure they get to the right place.  If you could have these in by the end of this month, even better!
