Stagecoach Theatre Arts, the world’s largest and most successful performing arts network of schools for children and teens is looking to hire a qualified voice instructor to join our team for SATURDAYS MORNINGS for the 2020 School Year (January-June).

The ideal applicants should have a strong training, teaching and performance background in Singing / Voice Instruction.

Applicants should also be passionate, positive, committed, creative, have good classroom control, and experience working with groups of children ages 6-16 yrs. A vulnerable sector police check will be required for all hired teachers.

The job would include preparing and teaching compelling, quality voice lessons for musical theatre classes and generating material for term performances and productions.

We provide an encouraging, fun and supportive working environment, with strong core values, opportunity to grow, exciting teaching workshops and a good hourly wage.

Teaching experience is required.

Aeolians Singers are seeking a Choir Part-time Communications/Business Manager (Contract Position)

The Aeolian Singers is a community-based, auditioned women’s choir in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We are celebrating our 44th season with our mission to present high quality, interesting choral programs, partnering with other artists and arts organizations in the region.
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to serve as our communications/business manager who will report to the President of the choir executive and work very closely with the Artistic Director to help bring about the Choir’s vision. This is a permanent part-time contract with a three-month probationary period.

Tenor Section Lead

St. Andrew’s United Church, corner of Coburg and Robie has an immediate opening for a tenor section lead. This will be a supplemental position between now and Christmas, with the opportunity to become permanent in January. The immediate need is for a strong reader and leader in the section for a performance of Randall Thompson’s Peaceable Kingdom on Sunday Nov 10.

Digby Choral Federation Seeks Choral Conductor

The Digby Choral Federation is searching for and experienced choral conductor to lead the annual
High Cs in Digby Choral musical weekend, May 15 th to 17th, 2020.

The annual choral festival weekend is hosted by The Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa and the historic cathedral style stone church located in the scenic ocean side village of St Bernard Nova Scotia.

The annual weekend draws approximately 125 to 1 community choral singers. The singers are usually from various choirs and a range of background experiences and SATB voices.

The culminating event of the weekend is a massed choir performance with two guest choirs resulting in a beautiful weekend performance of various genres and styles of music.

Expressions of interest as guest conductor can be sent to the Digby High Cs committee names below, by November 30, 2019.

Conductors are strongly encouraged to invite their own accompanist and choose music that would be accessible to a range of talents and voices that would lend to a concert of variety and interest to singers and audience. CMWC Halifax seeks Musical Director

The Canadian Military Wives Choirs (CMWC) is a three-part women’s choir and
all members are closely associated with the military, either by marriage or by
occupation. We come together weekly to sing, make new friends, and have fun.
No musical experience is necessary. The choirs are all about support — both
vocal and personal.

The CMWC Halifax is looking for an experienced keyboard musician and vocal
conductor to fill the role of our Musical Director, including choir leadership,
keyboard accompaniment, and creating practice tracks. The Musical Director will
work closely with the President and the executive members of the choir.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Organize regular rehearsals (Monday evenings) for members to improve
performance skills, and establish repertoire for use in upcoming events.
• Conduct the choir when we perform, possibly monthly depending on demand.
The season runs from beginning of September to end of June. March break and
holidays are observed from practice and most events.
• Foster an atmosphere of productive yet relaxed, cheerful learning and creativity,
sensitive to the needs of each individual while being supportive to the military
lifestyle.
• Provide additional pre-event rehearsal when required.
• Regular use of email, Facebook and Dropbox is required for communication of
choir business. 
• Ability to be dedicated to a regular practice schedule and periodic event
performances.
• Weekend and evening availability are essential.
Required Qualifications:
• Experienced keyboard musician (organ and/or piano) preferably with music or
similar training.
• Familiarity with SOCAN licenses, copyright and performance law, Dropbox and
recording rehearsal tracks.

Alto Section Lead for September

St. Andrew’s United Church Choir is seeking an Alto Section lead for September 2019. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings 7-9pm, and on Sunday morning 9:45 am, followed by Sunday worship at 10:30am. Special services include Christmas Eve, 7pm and 10pm, Good Friday 10:30am. Occasional concerts and special events.

St. Andrew’s United is located at the intersection of Coburg and Robie Streets in Halifax. We are a progressive, experimental, innovative congregation with an eclectic music program. The choir gives leadership to community singing weekly, and regularly offers special music to augment worship. The diverse repertoire spans the gamut of traditional high church choral standards to singing back up on jazz and popular arrangements with a house band and vocalists. The music is challenging, well prepared and delivered with excellence. But first and foremost St. Andrew’s choir is a caring, supportive, inclusive community where we enjoy the process of music making, and that is welcoming of everyone of all ages, regardless of gender, racial identity, spiritual/faith location or sexual orientation. The section lead is expected to model proper vocal technique, to come to rehearsal with parts prepared, to support other members of the section in learning and executing their part. Under the direction of the Executive Director and Program Coordinator the Programs and Services Assistant is responsible for administrative tasks associated with the federation’s summer programs and preparation for fall programming.  S/he would assist in program management, presentation and promotion, registration and payment tracking, creation and distribution of information packages, data management, promotion and evaluation of programs. Services will include work in our library processing returns and preparing music for summer programs.

The candidates must have good computer skills, keyboarding skills, and an understanding of social media.  Good written and oral skills are important and a knowledge of music would be helpful. Candidate must be returning enrolled in post-secondary education in Fall 2019.
